Careers

Teach the art

Here at the Meridian Centre we make it possible for you to achieve a career in Martial Arts, whether its teaching or assisting were here to help you.

Become an Instructor

We gladly progress gifted and dedicated students to Instructor level. Our Instructors work with adults or children to help them learn the skills they need to participate safely and enjoyably in Wing Chun Kung Fu. With the correct training and support becoming a Martial Arts Instructor is a real possibility. Some of our Instructors run classes on a part time basis and to others it is their full time profession.

A good martial arts instructor will demonstrate techniques and explain the principles behind them for students of all levels and abilities. This can involve writing training programmes, observing students to assess their progress, and providing appropriate feedback.

To be a Meridian Kung Fu Instructor you will need to acquire Instructor status through our Instructor Programme. Typically you will need to hold the rank of Black Belt before you can attend the Instructor Programme.

Initially (after completing a CRB check and First aid course) we would require you to undergo an assistant coaching role for a period of six months to prove your dedication and instructor qualities. On completion of the six months assisting duties successful candidates progress to the Instructor Programme.

The Instructor Programme teaches all aspects of class management, lesson planning and instructing methodology. Once the programme is successfully completed to Meridian standards we will undergo the launch of a new branch of which you will run on a probationary period.

Once the probation period is over, subject to further assessments and site visits successful Probationary Instructors are awarded Area Instructor status and assigned their own area.
